Each of us can choose either to be a part of the problem or the solution: every generation has the chance to carry the torch of hope to the young, the old and the desolate. Our action/inaction will determine what each of us become.
Volunteer teams love what they do - it''s an unselfish response pouring from the heart. It is the style of compassionate care they remembered dreaming about, many years previously, when they were in training, uncluttered by paperwork, forms, or medicine which is solely legally defensive. Overseas, their individual actions mean something valuable, and they help force measurable change. Volunteers are irreversibly transformed. The unique experience defines who they are and who they become. By their collective efforts they help CardioStart’s international program represent the best face of the developed world, overseas. To date, 546 heart cases have been done in 35 visits to 18 countries. Many hundreds more patients are formally evaluated to determine if they need surgery or can be managed medically. For the first time, whole communities see a way out of their misery and a future that they can then grasp.
Our volunteer network includes people drawn from medical and non-medical backgrounds. Each of us have a busy lives, but anything we can offer is valuable to those we are trying to reach.
We require surgeons, specialists in anesthesia, nurses, perfusionists, cardiologists, cardiology technicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, biomedical engineers and other healthcare professionals.
We require individuals with experience in accounting, administration, banking, business, communications, construction, marketing, news media, photography and transportation are needed in several areas of the mission organization. Those interested in teaching or helping develop sports for our orphanage assistance, play a valuable role as well.

If you are a healthcare provider, please send us your CV/resume. Whatever your motivation, tell us how you feel you would like to contribute your time and effort. There are many activities going on at the same time, and it is very likely you will be able to participate in something of lasting value. There is a great deal you can do to help the charity''s activities here at home OR on the overseas missions. If you do decide to join us on the mission itself, prior to leaving we will help you through the documentary process, (obtaining a passport, visa, etc).
